I am grateful to have an abundance of food to eat and a safe roof over my head.

Really, all the root chakra things are what I am grateful for, safety, security, food, the right to be here etc. One doesn’t have to go to far back in their lineage (or maybe in the current story) to find a case or time when these things were out of reach. I realized recently that I know very few people who’s families have been in the United States for more than three or four generations, and I don’t think that is that uncommon. Immigration stories (related to the root chakra in so many different ways), scarcity stories, lack of safety stories are present in our very recent and current lineages even if we can’t trace that far back. I’ve been doing a lot of ancestral lineage work of late regarding stories, habits, patterns, and cycles that have been passed down. I can’t trace that far back, but I can see how some of the world events and family events have shaped my lineage and how I can still find these beliefs and stories in myself today even with all of the uncoupling and healing I have done. These areas are the core of where a lot of our healing work is done; we all want to feel safe, have our needs met, be loved and belong. I am grateful my base needs are fulfilled because it allows me to be able to do my work in the world with more openness and freedom, and most importantly, gives me options, that I know for a fact many of my ancestors did not have and many across our world still do not.
