I am grateful for being active in sports growing up.
I’ve done more than I can mention in this post. I am grateful for them because they helped me get into my body when my mind would have wandered off. They kept me grounded and connected to my physical container when times were tough. They helped me move about the world with more awareness and skill. They helped motivate me and teach me in many ways. Yes, there are parts I have had to deprogram from sports, competitiveness, aggressiveness and seeing the other as the enemy to name three (of many), AND, if I didn’t have a base connection to my body through movement as a young person, I am not sure I would have been able to do any of the things I have in the world or lived the life I have.
