I am grateful for my parents.
They kept me alive, housed me, fed me, loved me, and did the best they could. I would not be who I am today without them, literally and figuratively. There are so many what ifs in all of our lives and I am aware that with a few simple shifts in my childhood, my entire life would be different, including the country where I grew up. It is not a small thing to raise two cross cultural kids with minds of their own in a place that wants you to conform and assimilate. I am grateful for all of their efforts, love, and humanness.
